Quick bits

Well - it’s been a busy week all the way around - with work, with this site, and with my own life.

I am already meeting some great people who are interested in the future of this site - and want to send out a big Thank You for your words of support and feedback.

Beyond that, I am just workin on pulling together the three primary elements of the high Vibe it platform - the blog, the news site, and the forum.

So far, so good!

More on The Secret and The Law of Attraction

Hello… My name is Roger. I am a Stuart Davis fan.

Ok… now that that is out of the way, here’s Stuart Davis’ take on The Secret.

I appreciate and respect his take on things.

I find it somewhat interesting that so many people and organizations find it important to address The Secret… even the great Post-Apocalyptic Punk Folk artist, Stuart Davis.

It seems to me that most people commenting on it are using it as a means to restate their own value systems. It is as if they are using the hype and media attention as a platform to say “hey - The Secret says *This*, but I believe *That*.”

I haven’t seen The Secret movie.

I don’t feel any real need to. I think most of us realize there is no real secret.

But I have been exposed to The Law of Attraction (TLOA) in many of its incarnations. I am listening to the Abraham-Hicks material in audio format. I am also listening to Denise Lynch. Just as I have taken in and appreciated similar teachings of Deepak ChopraDr. Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle in recent years.

I feel like I am back in college, where I studied the teachings of Plato, Aristotle, Heidegger, Wittgenstein,  and Kierkegaard. Except this is a lot more fun.

That’s the real beauty of The Secret to me - it has real people talking about the meaning of life and about the nature of reality. How cool is that?

If you follow The Law of Attraction (TLOA), at least as it is taught by the entity known as Abraham, then it doesn’t really matter that much what anyone else thinks about it. You believe it to be true because you experience it working in your life. And you realize and accept *and appreciate* that all kinds of people are going to think all kinds of different things.

No matter what you believe - it seems obvious - there is no one system of thought or spiritual belief that works the same for every person on this planet - and it is strikingly clear how destructive disagreements over such systems can be.

Imagine a system of thinking and believing that says this to you - “go and create the world that you want to live in, and let others do the same. Go and dream and create. Be the best person you can be — and help co-create alongside like minded people the best possible world you can imagine”.

I agree with the criticisms that TLOA is shallow when it is used simply to attract wealth and material things…. but so what? The point of TLOA, from my perspective, is that if this rubs me the wrong way - I am not HELPING anything by focusing on THAT. Rather, I should think about the kind and caring world that I value - and dream and live those values.

The Power comes from realizing we have a choice in how we direct our focus. Focusing on the negative - no matter what it is - will just bring about negative emotions, more negative thoughts, etc… it doesn’t Produce anything Productive.

Likewise, this is what I love about working with TLOA and with the high Vibe it site.  It challenges me to actively look for the positive… that is to say, deliberately seek the Positive - and it’s All over the place All the time.

And that is something for which I am truly grateful.

About the high Vibe it blog

As I go about integrating my various “publishing” efforts, I want to submit at least one post marking the launch of the high Vibe it blog.

This is just my personal space to blog about my own experiences with the material I am posting to the high Vibe it site, as well as my experience with building and managing the site.

I have seeded this blog with my entries from a previous blog I started a few months ago - called much gratitude -  as this site is the natural evolution of what I was intending when I started that site.

Since this is my proverbial “first post” all over again… I want to send much gratitude out to everyone working on and supporting Pligg -  Pligg is the open source engine that made high Vibe it possible. Another big Thank You to the developers and supporters of WordPress - which is the blogging system that this blog runs on, as well as dreamhost - the web hosting company I have selected to run all of this stuff.
